1st National Meeting of Gender Equality Structures in Higher Education

The Polytechnic University of Tomar had the honour of hosting the first National Meeting of Gender Equality Structures in Higher Education (ENEIGES), which took place on April 7th.
The initiative, organised by the Gender Equality Working Group of the Sustainable Campus Network, consisted of lectures, various dynamics and debates and aimed to discuss strategies and share good practices.

At the event, a joint declaration was signed by the HEIs present, which aims to contribute to strengthening, in a collaborative way, the role of academia as a transforming agent in building a more equitable, diverse society that respects the dignity of all people.

The declaration establishes active cooperation to share experiences, challenges and good practices, the creation of a National Network of Gender Equality Structures for cooperation, collaboration and mutual support, the promotion of regular meetings, the organisation of periodic webinars and the active involvement of both the academic and external communities.
