BIP Designing a University for All

Between 22 and 26 June, the Polytechnic Institute of Tomar hosted the Erasmus BIP blended intensive course ‘Designing a University for All’, an initiative forming part of the Polytechnic Institute of Tomar’s Equality, Inclusion and Diversity Plan 2025–2028 and the Diversity and Inclusion Plan of our European University Kreativeu - European University.
The programme brought together 21 lecturers, researchers and other higher education professionals from various European universities in Bulgaria, Romania, the Netherlands, Sweden, Germany, the Czech Republic, Poland and Turkey, with the aim of reflecting on and developing solutions to make higher education institutions more accessible and inclusive.
Over the course of five working days, participants took part in practical workshops and collaborative sessions focusing on five key areas: architectural accessibility and inclusive spaces; pedagogical accessibility; digital accessibility; attitudinal accessibility and institutional culture; and policies, governance and institutional strategy.
The initiative aimed to foster the sharing of experiences and good practices amongst European institutions, contributing to the development of innovative strategies that promote inclusion and participation for all in higher education.
The course report, as well as the materials produced (a summary booklet of the workshops and a guide to good practices), can be found here
