To mark World Day for Cultural Diversity for Dialogue and Development, the Tomar Polytechnic (IPT) organised the “Bridges between Cultures” workshop on 14 May.
The initiative featured a collective learning and sharing experience dedicated to creating paper flowers. The session was led by the Central Committee of the Festa dos Tabuleiros and enabled participants to learn traditional techniques for making the iconic flowers that form part of the decorations for this cultural celebration, one of the most notable events in the city of Tomar.
The celebration also included a moment of cultural exchange amongst students, featuring displays of traditional costumes, music, dance, cuisine, literature and other elements representative of their respective countries.
This initiative was promoted as part of IPT’s 2025–2028 Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Plan and was organised by the Diversity and Inclusion Group, in collaboration with the International Relations Office, the Erasmus Student Network and the IPT Staff Centre.
