The Polytechnic of Tomar is holding a mixed intensive programme on the theme "An inclusive university in a diverse world" from 6 to 10 June in the Q102 auditorium, as part of the Erasmus+ programme, in a b-learning format.
This programme deals with the theme of gender equality, diversity and inclusion in Higher Education Institutions, with the participation of 20 teachers, researchers and other staff from 15 European universities in Poland, France, Greece, Estonia, Latvia, Turkey, Hungary, Slovakia and the UK. In addition to a number of speakers from national institutions linked to the issue, such as the ERASMUS+ National Agency, ANI, CITE, CIG and Projeto Engenheiras, and from national higher education institutions such as ISCTE-IUL, the Faculty of Psychology of the University of Porto and the University of Aveiro, which have carried out research in this area.
Through a series of workshops, this intensive programme aims to promote the exchange of good practice with other European higher education institutions on the implementation of gender equality plans in higher education and on internal policies and practices that promote equal opportunities, an inclusive environment and prevent any form of discrimination. The issue in question is of great importance for the successful implementation of the IPT's Gender Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Plan. It is also a political priority for the European Commission, established in its Strategy for Gender Equality 2020-2025, and a national priority, defined in the National Strategy for Equality and Non-Discrimination 2018-2030.
The Polytechnic of Tomar is one of the higher education institutions that has an Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Plan for the three-year period 2022-2024, which includes a series of commitments and actions aimed at promoting equality, diversity and inclusion.
