"BARBATANA CIDADÃ" EVENT

Our Institute, through the Archaeology and Conservation of Underwater Heritage laboratory, in partnership with the Templar School Group (AET), as part of the Tomar to Ocean project, supported by various institutions, have joined forces to carry out the Barbatana Cidadã event on 24 February, which aims to be a civic awareness activity for the preservation of environmental and cultural heritage, focusing on the river beach of Vila Nova (Serra de Tomar).

Due to the relevance of the topic, our Diversity and Inclusion Group participated in this event to demonstrate the importance of women in science and to celebrate the International Day of Women and Girls in Science, which is celebrated on 11 February.

We would like to raise a toast to them during the event, highlighting their role in research and knowledge development.

The event is expected to attract more than 200 participants, including girls and women in science. We believe this is a way of thanking and recognising their efforts, commitment and dedication over the years. Come and celebrate with us and make it a day to remember.

We'll be waiting for you all on the beach of Vila Nova at 2pm.
